About Tracy Rees

Tracy Rees was born and grew up in Swansea, South Wales. She has always been an avid reader and lover of words.


“As a child, I spent a great deal of time lost in my imagination and stories have always been my magic carpets to other worlds. It was always my dream to become a published author.”
 
About

Tracy studied Modern and Medieval Languages at Jesus College, Cambridge, then moved to London and worked in medical publishing for many years. In her thirties, she completed a second degree, in psychology, at London Metropolitan University, followed by professional counselling training in Wales. She then became a counsellor for people with cancer and their families. She has also been a waitress, bartender, shop assistant, estate agent, classroom assistant, university lecturer and workshop leader.


Her first novel, Amy Snow, won the Richard and Judy Search for a Bestseller competition and the Love Stories Best Historical Read award. Her third novel, The Hourglass, was shortlisted for the RNA Epic Romantic Novel of the Year award. Her seventh historical novel, The Elopement, was published in November 2022. Tracy’s books have been published in over twenty countries around the world. Tracy also writes contemporary commercial fiction and her third contemporary novel, The Little House by the Sea, was published by Bookouture in August 2022.


Tracy is passionately interested in human nature and personal development and these themes are often reflected in her work. She loves connecting with others and helping aspiring authors along their path. Tracy also loves animals; her pets have included Sunny the three-legged hamster and Sirocco the excessively handsome palomino pony. She enjoys yoga, dancing, walking, cookery, drawing and singing. Her inspiration comes from many sources including glimpses of other lives, beautiful
pictures, music, nature…
